VC3000 Support

If you have experienced problems with the accelerometer not functioning after clearing memory with units sold from January 1, 2008 to March 17, 2008 we have a fix for you. The newest version of the firmware 3.25 resolves this problem. Send in your VC3000 and we will install the new PROM free of charge. For our overseas customers we can send you the PROM and you can install it yourself to save time and shipping expenses.

The problem is easily resolved by setting defaults from Setup, after run memory is cleared.

The problem is in the latest build of printed circuit boards. One of the memory components had an undocumented change causing accelerometer calibration data to read as 0.000 after memory is cleared. When that happens the accelerometer will read as 0.000 and the unit will not activate. After Set Defaults is used, the correct calibration data is read and will be stored until clear memory is performed again. Calibration is not affected therefore accuracy is not affected after Set Defaults is used. If the unit shows changing acceleration and activates, you can be confident the calibration data is good.
