Q. Profile will not import data.
A.
One or more of the following:

  1. Download the latest Profile software from the Profile Pro support page.
  2. USB serial converter drivers not installed correctly.  The drivers are available on the Profile Support page of our web site or on the Profile CD.
  3. The VC4000 is not turned on or is unplugged.
  4. Wrong COM Port selected.  Go to VC4000 tab|Communications Manager and select Auto or the correct COM port, usually the last one in the list if using USB.
  5. The USB port drivers are not loaded yet.  Wait about 5 seconds after plugging the VC4000 in and turning it on before attempting to import.
  6. PDA synchronization software such as "Hot Sync" is running and controlling the serial port.  Close the PDA software and try again.
  7. Wrong cable or not connected properly.
  8. Open Control Panel/Device Manager and check COM ports.  “VC4000 Virtual COM port (COMx)" should be listed.  If it is not, check other devices and reinstall drivers if USB serial port has a question mark.

Q. I had a sensor set to zero adjust by mistake.  How can I correct this after the test is completed?
A. Go into the sensor settings for the run and make the minimum range the opposite sign of the maximum range.  For example, in the case of a 300lb load cell, set the minimum range to -300 and maximum range to 300.  The resolution of the sensor results will now be half of what it would have been.
